STEVEN G. MANDIS, Chairman
Steven is the Chairman of Kalamata Capital LLC, a data-driven, alternative finance company focused on financing small business customers to grow and create jobs. Utilizing automated data aggregation and electronic payment technology, Kalamata Capital can make credit decision is as little as 24 hours and quickly deliver funding to small businesses.
Steven was awarded an Ellis Island Medal of Honor, presented annually to a group of distinguished American citizens who are the children or grand-children of immigrants and exemplify a life dedicated to community service. His parents immigrated to America from Greece with very little money and no knowledge of English. He is proud that they quietly sacrificed so that he and his siblings could have a better life. His parents taught him the meaning of values and hard work as well as the power of the combination of these two qualities.
Steven has previous experience as a banker (Chief of Staff to the President of Citigroup), management consultant (Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Co.) and investor (Portfolio Manager at Goldman Sachs in Proprietary Trading). Currently, he is an Associate Adjunct Professor at Columbia University Business School.
He holds a bachelor's degree from The University of Chicago and two master's degrees and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. A college varsity athlete in two sports, Steven now competes in triathlons.
